Please if i made this in the wrong spot or said something wrong feel free to let me know or if you're a mod just move my thread or close it. But when i get a chance to work on her, I'll up date this thread. So if i find out what the problem is and the fix I'll be sure to share it on here as well as any updates i might have with the situation.Д«eing a student and having exams at the moment it's hard for me to keep on top of the bike. This thread is more for people like myself who are looking at what the cause could be. Any information would be greatly appreciated. If anyone has anything to add such as ideas or personal experiences please feel free to comment. I'll also change rocker cover gasket because it's leaking a wee bit which make everything look dirty. If all 4 cylinders are the same then I'm going to assume the spark isn't strong enough and replace the coils as well as get a new set of plugs because current ones look like shit. If they aren't, then head will have to come off so i can inspect the valves.

If they are all around the same psi I'm going to guess it's okay. When i get a chance I'll test and compare them. Didn't have enough time to test the rest of the cylinders. I checked for spark and there is some (though looks kinda weak).Дid a compression test on 4th and it came up with 100psi, not sure if that's enough or not. But the cylinder would have been hot enough that when enough oxygen seeped through the valve it ignited and BANG.Д«ike is currently getting it's ass disassembled. I think what happened is that fuel was getting into a cylinder but there was not enough oxygen to ignite it. Anyways my thoughts are the valves might be screwed which would explain the rattle in the head from a few months ago. Weird thing is, there was about a 10 second gap between when i stopped cranking and the actual backfire. Shit load of black smoke came out of the exhaust as well. I was looking at the fuel tap and fuel lines when out of no where it backfired, almost shat myself. So i played around with the accelerator a bit trying to start it. The next time i went to start it (few weeks latter) it didn't want to start at all. Anyways I didn't let it run for long, switched it off and let it sit for a few more weeks due to being to busy to work on her. It seemed to be coming from the top of the head. She's always had a rattle which sounds like it was the exup valve but when i started it after sitting for so long it had another rattle which sounded a lot more unhealthy. I had it off the road for awhile (about a month or so). it's a 1990 model (i think) but it is 100% the 3ln1 engine. So like the title says I have an FZR250r. I'm not a mechanic and this is the first bike i have worked on, but i have some experience with cars and I've rebuilt a few car engines before (very very slowly) Anyways long story short I've been fixing things slowly by my self.

Air filter was munted, coolant was brown, rocker cover still leaks oil, clutch is still slipping. I took it to a mechanic to get a road worthy done and he did F*&%K all to it. (I've been searching around for awhile and found nothing)Д«efore reading please note that my bike is old and has been neglected by god knows how many owners. So when they search google or where ever, hopefully they stumble across this thread and by then the issue would have been solved. I'm writing this thread, more for people who have a similar problem to me.

I was shocked to receive an immediate response from a REAL person with a link and AGAIN in seconds I was downloading my new Parts Manual!! this time for good!! and once again, Christmas morning at 7am!!! I am nothing else but impressed!! and now I want to see what other digital manuals they may offer for some of my other dinosaurs in my fleet of farm and excavating machines. After several attempts to try to figure it out, I decided at the very least I should send an email to the address provided.

The purchase through Pay Pal was quick and easy ,I clicked on the download button and in seconds was scrolling through my new digital factory parts manual!!! The next morning 6am(Christmas morning before the kids found me) I excitedly opened my computer to continue reading my manual and it was gone! the page said 'access denied ' time ran out ! my farm boy intelligence was frantic. So at 11pm Christmas eve I decide to purchase a digital manual that I had been looking for desperitely for my newly acquired Clark Michigan 55B Loader.
